Academic Decathlon

 

The Nebraska Academic Decathlon promotes academic growth, teamwork, and communication skills among students of all achievement levels through statewide academic competitions. The 2012-2013 school year was Mount Michael Benedictine's  inaugural year competing in the Academic Decathlon. In the 1st year of compention they captured the State Runner-up Trophy and are now 3 time defending State Champions.

2016 Small School State Champions

The Mount Michael Knights reign as the 2016 small school Academic Decathlon State Champions. The competition was held on the campus of Creighton University.  

This year's Academic Decathlon theme was India. Schools of all sizes competed simultaneously.  The final event was the Super Quiz.  Mount Michael placed 2nd n the Small School division for the Super Quiz. Congratulation Knights!


In the competition each team is divided into 3 levels according to GPA. The three levels are Honors, Scholastic, and Varsity.  Each level is then represented by 3 members of the team.
