Booster
Club Picnic Draws Record Crowd
The Mount's
annual Booster Club picnic to initiate the new school
year started out with a record sized crowd with an estimate
of between 800-900 in attendance.
Last
year Mount Michael finished the year with an enrollment
of 163 students this year we start with 211! The student
body is comprised of 37 international students from South
Korea, China, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Spain,
Thailand, Rwanda, and Canada. There is representation from
South Dakota, Wyoming, and Nebraska. Besides Omaha and
Lincoln there are Knights from Bellevue, Bennington, Blair,
Columbus, Dodge, Elkhorn, Fort Calhoun, Fremont, Gretna,
LaVista, Morse Bluff, Papillion, Ralston, Scotia, Scribner,
South Bend, Unadilla, Walton, Washington, Waterloo, and
Valley. A number of brothers of upperclassmen populate
the lower ranks. 8 alumni have sons who are students. Religious
diversity is also a part of the 2008 – 2009 student
body with several different faiths and flavors of those
faiths represented.
Everyone
is excited to get the year underway and are looking forward
to the many new adventures and experiences that will unfold
throughout the year.
