International Students Overview


At Mount Michael Benedictine, students come from many different schools in Nebraska and the United States and from many different countries. This mix of students represents a variety of cultures and traditions.  International students have the opportunity to live and learn within a safe, supportive and academically-enriched environment as they prepare for college.  In addition, students will get a first hand understanding of American culture and life-long friendships.

I-20 Document

Mount Michael Benedictine School issues an F-1 visa to allow international students to apply for a student visa. Mount Michael Benedictine has extensive experience in assisting students from many different countries to earn visas. Students who are accepted will receive a packet that will include the I-20 document along with other information and forms to complete the registration process. 

 

Travel

Use Omaha Eppley (OMA) when scheduling arrivals and departures. Mount Michael Benedictine will provide transportation to and from the airport when arrival and departure times are scheduled appropriately. Please provide your travel information to the seven day residential dean as soon as it has been scheduled.

International Student Application Process

Students must submit an application form, $25 application fee, official copy of transcript, school and personal recommendation forms, admissions essay and a TOEFL or SSAT test score.  International students will also have to complete Mount Michael Benedictine’s entrance exam and a phone or Skype Interview.  Arrangements for students to test at an agency or their current school can be made by the admissions office.  Mount Michael Benedictine has rolling admission.

*SANG WON BAHNG has been accepted for admission to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Sang Won will attend the UNIVERSITY of NEBRASKA at LINCOLN where he plans to major in chemical engineering and math.

 

×JIN SU IM has received offers of admission to Indiana University - Kelley School of Business and Rutgers University - Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. Jin Su plans to attend RUTGERS UNIVERSITY and will major in pharmacy.

 

*JAE HOON JUNG has received offers of admission to Boston College, University of Toronto, University of Western Ontario, and University of British Columbia. Jae Hoon is planning on attending UNIVERSITY of TORONTO.

 

×KYUNG MO KANG has been accepted to University of California at Berkeley, University of California at Irvine, University of California at Los Angeles, University of California at San Diego, and the University of Southern California. Kyung Mo will be attending UNIVERSITY of CALIFORNIA at BERKELEY where he will major in business.

 

GUNHWAN KIM has received offers of admission to Indiana University at Bloomington, Rice University, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, the University of Notre Dame, the University of Washington at Seattle, Washington University in Saint Louis. Gunhwan will attend RICE UNIVERSITY where he plans to major in bioengineering.

 

TAE HOON KIM has been accepted for admission to University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Tae Hoon will attend UNIVERSITY of NEBRASKA at LINCOLN where he will major in accounting and finance.

 

SUNGHYUK (DAVID) LIM has received offers of admission to State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton, State University of New York (SUNY) and at Stony Brook, Arizona State University, and Kansas University. Sunghyuk plans to attend SUNY BINGHAMTON and will major in accounting/business.

 

*SUNGHA YIM has received offers of admission to Bentley University, Brandeis University, Indiana University at Bloomington, Wake Forest University. Sungha plans to attend WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY where he will major in financial analysis.

 

*YUAN ZHOU has received offers of admission to Georgetown University - Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, and Brandeis University. Yuan plans to attend GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY where he will major in international political economy.

 

Class of 2010 International Students – College Plans

 

HUBERT HIRWA received offers of admission to Fordham University; Florida Southern College where he was awarded the Trift Merit Scholarship; and the University of Minnesota. Hubert plans to attend FLORIDA SOUTHERN COLLEGE and is currently undecided on a major.

 

*JIN BO IM received offers of admission to Albany College of Pharmacy; the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy; Northeastern University; Rutgers University; the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; the University of Rhode Island where he was awarded a Centennial Scholarship Award; the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia where he was awarded an Annual Merit Award. Jin Bo will attend RUTGERS UNIVERSITY where he plans to major in pharmacy.

 

*BAEK HO JANG received offers of admission to Case Western Reserve University; the Georgia Institute of Technology; Rice University; and the University of Washington in Seattle. Baek Ho plans to attend RICE UNIVERSITY where he will major in biomedical engineering.

 

JOON SEOB JEONG received offers of admission to Indiana University at Bloomington. Joon plans to attend INDIANA UNIVERSITY at BLOOMINGTON, KELLEY SCHOOL of BUSINESS and will major in marketing and entrepreneurship.

 

* JONG KYU (ALEX) LIM received offers of admission to Babson College; Creighton University where he was awarded the Matteo Ricci Academic Merit Scholarship; and the University of San Diego. Alex will be attending BABSON COLLEGE and will double major in entrepreneurial studies and human resource management.

 

*SEUNG MIN OH received offers of admission to Penn State University; Purdue University; Texas A&M University; the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne; and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Seung Min will be attending the UNIVERSITY of WISCONSIN at MADISON where he plans to major in industrial and systems engineering.

 

*GUNHEE PARK received offers of admission to Arizona State University; the University of California at Berkeley; the University of Notre Dame; and the University of Southern California where he was awarded a Dean’s Scholarship. Gunhee plans to attend ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY and will major in supply chain management.

 

*CHAVAL PUNYATANASAKCHAI received offers of admission to Chulalongkorn University; Purdue University; Penn State University; and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Chaval plans to attend the UNIVERSITY of WISCONSIN at MADISON where he plans to major in chemical engineering.
