Ways to Give
Memorials and Tributes - Donate Now
At Mount Michael, one can enroll families and friends in our memorial/tribute foundation. This consists of daily remembrance at the Eucharist and the Divine Office by the Monks of Mount Michael Abbey. Upon enrollment we will notify the family with a card.

School Annual Fund/School Annual Appeal - Donate Now
Each year, an annual appeal is mailed to all of the Mount Michael Benedictine family and friends who have generously supported the students throughout the years. It is with sincere gratitude that we accept these gifts. Funds raised through the Annual School Fund are used to help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student.

Underwriting Special Events
Mount Michael Benedictine Abbey & School hosts two major events each year, Night of Knights and Fall Festival. Prior to each event, major gifts are solicited that come from corporations and many times individuals, all of which make it possible to make the event bigger and better and most of all, more successful every year.

Mount Michael Legacy Society
Legacy Society members are those who have remembered Mount Michael Benedictine Abbey and School in their ultimate giving or estate planning. To date, Mount Michael Benedictine Abbey & School has received over $3 million in planned gifts. If you are interested in naming Mount Michael as a beneficiary in your estate, some simple options are below. As always, we recommend that you consult with your attorney or financial advisor to find the planned giving method that works best for you.
Gifts of Your Estate
There are many alternatives. It is a simple matter to include Mount Michael in your estate. You can make a bequest as large or small as you desire. You may consider a percentage of your property or a specified amount. You may set up a trust in your will to educate your grandchildren, and, only after their education needs are met, will the trust benefit the Mount Michael Foundation. You may use a codicil or trust amendment to add the Mount Michael Foundation to your estate plan without completely rewriting your will or trust.
Bequests for our Greatest Needs
We encourage unrestricted bequests. They allow us to use your gift for our most urgent need at the time of the receipt.
We also encourage designated bequests for specific purposes (i.e. student scholarships, monastic retirement) where your interest may be the greatest. However, we recommend that you use the broadest terms possible that are consistent with your interests. This will safeguard against the possibility of your gift becoming obsolete.
A Tradition of Service
The monks of Mount Michael have been serving the Omaha area for over 50 years. The monastic community at Mount Michael strives each day to fulfill the motto of their founder, Saint Benedict – “Ora et Labora” (“Prayer and Work”}. The monks gather in the chapel five times each day for prayer and worship. Between these times of prayer, the various members of the Abbey can be found at their particular jobs. This “routine” is not unlike that prescribed by Saint Benedict over 1500 years ago for his monks at Monte Cassino.
The primary apostolate of the Abbey is education and is demonstrated by their outstanding college preparatory school, Mount Michael Benedictine High School.
