Births 

 

Dr. Michael M. Collins II ’96 and his wife Carly welcomed a new baby boy, Michael McGowan Collins III, on September 28.

Phil Ervin ’07 and his wife Sarah welcomed son Ezekiel James on Nov. 27.

 

 

Marrigages

 

Jonathan Gamm married Emily Samson on September 24 at Saint Cecilia Cathedral.

Daniel Cihal ’01 married Erin Amdor on September 24 at Saint John’s Catholic Church.

Dr. Matt Holt ’02 married Amber Escobedo on Nov. 26.

Jack Pritchard ’07 married Amanda Reinhart at St. John’s Parish at Creighton University on Nov. 26.

 

 

Life Accomplishments

 

Josh Hankins ’11 graduated from Seton Hall University in May, 2014, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry.  Josh was accepted into the Golden Leaf Bio Manufacturing and Education Center (BTEC) at NC State. In May, 2016, Josh graduated with a Master’s Degree in Bio Manufacturing. Josh served as TA to one of his professors for 2 years.   In December, 2015, he applied for the Novo Nordisk Graduate Rotation Program and was accepted out of a pool of thousands of applicants from across the US. He interned with the company over the summer and began the program in September, 2016.  The 2-year program provides a minimum of three job rotations. He will leave in May, 2017, for an 8-month rotation at their corporate headquarters in Denmark.

Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with more than 90 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care. Headquartered in Denmark, Novo Nordisk employs approximately 42,300 people in 75 countries and markets its products in more than 180 countries.  Josh currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.

 

Dr. Curtis McKnight ’01 was recently named one of the top doctors in Phoenix, Arizona.  PHOENIX Magazine’s top doctors are nominated and selected by their peers.  Dr. McKnight is a top doctor in his field of psychiatry.

 

Jono Matt ’06, along with his writing partner Glen Powell, is in talks to write a screenplay for a “Captain Planet” movie, with Paramount and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions as producers.  In the six years Jono has lived in Los Angeles, he has worked as a director’s assistant on television shows “Glee” and “Sons of Anarchy” and written several screenplays.

 

Clifton McEvoy ’00 was named one of Omaha Jaycee’s Ten Outstanding Young Omahans.  He will be honored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce at a dinner in February.

 

Mohammad Elradi ’15 made the University of Nebraska-Lincoln basketball roster after he earned a spot in walk-on tryouts in October.  Mohammad totaled 958 career points at Mount Michael, and during his senior year he led the team in points (376), rebounds (106) and assists (67).

 

Matt Schmidt '85 (far right) was chosen to officiate South Dakota's 9AA championship game in Vermillion. Schmidt, who has been a football official four years, currently works at South Dakota State University and lives in Brookings.

 

Cooper Wilson ‘14 and Davis Wilson ’14, juniors at Creighton University, were invited to Creighton University President Fr. Daniel Hendrickson SJ's honorary Alpha Sigma Nu induction ceremony at Campus Palmas Altas, Loyola Andalucia, in Seville, Spain. Cooper, currently studying in Florence Italy, was in Seville visiting Davis, who is studying at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide. Also in attendance was Fr. Hendrickson's twin brother, the Rev. D. Scott Hendrickson SJ. The fellow Mount Michael Benedictine graduates met afterward for a bit of Knightly camaraderie and fun.
